The ABC of Nursery Rhymes presents nursery rhymes in alphabetical order so teachers can use them while teaching each letter, for example, Simple Simon or Boy Blue. Some of the rhymes, like This Old Man, are also counting rhymes. Teachers can easily assimilate them into their lesson plans and, if children have a copy each, it will provide instant reading material. Furthermore the illustrations help with the vocabulary within each rhyme and can be coloured in as each page is completed.

Nursery rhymes are an important part of the English language. Most English children learn to recite them long before they go to school. Singing them uses a part of the brain linked to music and this enhances learning when children finally read the rhymes. The rhyming words at the end of the lines are also an important tool in teaching phonics and are a fun way to play with words.

Published in 2005 with 76 llustrated pages in soft cover. The ABC would be suitable for lower primary school children. Reproducible for class use.
